Clarion Coughlan, Jayne Paterson O’Connell & Kelsey White
Kelsey found her group in a reorg in mid-January, which has brought many new changes - forming a new leadership team, welcoming new teams, and reevaluating the strategy against the team structures. She and the other leads have settled on the 2024 focus areas and will be working to build an execution plan. Kelsey finished reading Team Topologies lately which encouraged her to better consider Site Reliability group's ways of working; namely to enable their mission through helping and mentoring other teams at the company.
Jayne has been on overdrive since coming back to work after a snowy Christmas break! She's been immersed in designing strategies for scaling our teams, tackling questions about team size and its impact. On top of that, she's been focused on enhancing visibility into plans, progress, and challenges from her area of the business. Jayne is contemplating the dynamics of leadership in these playback sessions and considering their impact. Adding to her plate, she's been running workshops to kick off new projects, refine processes, and foster a continuous improvement mindset—a work in progress that promises to keep her busy all year. Is it time for Jayne to take another holiday?
Starting 2024, Clarion turned her attention to enhancing Product Ops at her company, aiming to ensure that team activities align well with broader strategic goals. After returning from a break, she updated the Product Ops space on Confluence and Jira to improve team communication and visibility, a fundamental aspect of Product Ops. This effort was about keeping the team informed and on track with the latest product and delivery updates. Additionally, Clarion has been involved in organizing early access and beta testing, seeking valuable input from key customers. These steps are part of refining the company's approach to market, focusing on practical steps and feedback. Over these months, Clarion's work has been about maintaining focus on strategic alignment and operational clarity, contributing to the team's effort to enhance product operations.
