Clarion Coughlan, Justin Blass & Kelsey White
Over the past two weeks, Clarion's primary focus has centered on customer research. Following the completion of a series of customer interviews, Clarion has shifted her attention to the time-consuming task of re-listening to these interviews, transcribing them, and analyzing the content to validate or invalidate her research ideas. She's been surprised at how much time this step demands. To address this challenge, Clarion has been exploring a tool called Dovetail, with the hope that it can streamline her research process and speed up the generation of insights. She's particularly enjoyed playing with Dovetail's AI features - just for the sheer fun of it. As Clarion continues to refine her understanding of customers, she looks forward to harnessing these tools and methodologies to strengthen her product development process.
Meanwhile, Justin's been focusing on supporting a team working through the tough challenge of meeting a release deadline while trying to find that good enough line for our users. In light of this, he wrote this blog on working at a sustainable pace. We also continued rolling out team health checks and will now be working on creating an aggregated view for discussion across the department. He enjoyed reading John Cutler's latest article on saying no and Lenny's podcast episode with the CPO of Coda.
Kelsey has spent most of the last couple of weeks redefining the standards for incident management at her company. This includes defining incident terms, metrics that matter (MTTR and Response Lead Time), and designing a prioritization system. This has required quite a lot of collaboration across the business, so Kelsey has focused on driving consensual decisions without seeking unanimous consensus. In other news, Kelsey rode in her first Waymo this week and cannot stop thinking about the future of Autonomous Vehicles.
